Learning to Sew

I just heard from a friend of mine that she is willing to teach me to sew!  YAY!  Progress toward reaching one goal!  Our date is Tuesday, April 13th.  I'm not sure what we'll be doing, but I'll be sure and post of that experience.  Thanks to Amy at Homestead Revival for her cloth napkin tutorial as the impetus for making contact with this friend.

  1. I was just thinking about writing a post about cloth napkins!
I wish I knew how to sew.
And, the egg swap started sort of just without much planning-we were buying bread from a neighbor who was buying eggs from us. A lightbulb went off we decided to swap weekly. It works for both of us.
I recently swapped eggs also for some plants and seeds for the garden-it helped that they didn't have their own chickens...I didn't have good seeds...

  2. Did you read the blog about making the cloth napkins? I wonder how easy that really is?

We recently added 12 hens to our collection (2 have since disappeared) and are now getting more eggs daily than we can use. I've started giving them away to friends with the hopes of being able to sell them soon. Do you just re-use cartons from store bought eggs?
